Trial 2 – Different height desks

One of my students in class is always rocking on his chair and wanting to get up and move around. He is by no means a naughty kid quite the opposite, hard working, eager to get the job done to the best of his ability.

Trial 2 is several different height desks in my classroom, will trial a stool at them as well as the option for students to stand while working.

Hey Tammy, Christian Brothers Junior School in Adelaide has two heights of desks in their Year 5 & 6 classrooms – with higher stools for the higher desks, or the option to simply stand at them. They said that this was in response to the boys in the class who don’t find it easy to work while sitting and need to move or stand when they are working – they can still ‘sit’ when they want to because of the stools, or even just lean against the stool. I was there for a meeting last term and they were saying that they have found it to be an excellent solution. Look forward to reading about how your foray into height differentials goes.
